May Members Meeting
The next meeting of Chamber members is, Wednesday 15th 7pm in the Victoria Hall at which we will welcome as our speaker, Fergus Murray, Head of Economic Development Argyll and Bute Council.
The format of the evening will be an introduction from the Chamber on current issues of concern which will impact on local commerce and a debate and questions from members on additional support for Helensburgh from Mr. Murray’s department.
Our introduction will cover recent developments with BIDS, seafront parking during what is potentially a three year construction period for the new leisure centre and issues over designating Helensburgh a Conservation Area.
The Chamber has been represented at all recent meeting in respect of these issues.
We will also be sharing some of the initial analysis from the Chamber’s Town Audit and of course looking to see how the council will use its own “Making Places” £30,000 report for the benefit of local commerce.
We hope for a good turn out of members as that will help the Chamber to make sure it continues to have a presence when the council is discussing Helensburgh and Lomond.
